Samuel Joseph Szmodics (born 24 September 1995) is a professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for EFL Championship club Blackburn Rovers and the Republic of Ireland national team. Szmodics started his career with hometown club Colchester United, where from the age of seven he progressed through the club's Academy.
