Saqlain Mushtaq (born 29 December 1976) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former international cricketer [2] who was the head coach of the Pakistani national cricket team between 2021 and 2022. [3] He is best known for pioneering the "doosra", a leg break delivery bowled with an off break action.
Saqlain Mushtaq is a former Pakistan offspinner who mastered the doosra and took 208 Test wickets. He also played for Ireland, Surrey and Sussex, and joined the ICL in 2007.
Saqlain was born in Lahore on 29th December 1976 and played for the Pakistan International Airlines and Islamabad Cricket Association from the age of 18.

Saqlain Mushtaq was perhaps the first offspinner to master the doosra, a delivery that spins away from the batsman even though it is delivered with an offspinner's action. Saqlain has a fast, short-stepping action with a halting delivery, and has a propensity to bowl no-balls, unusually for a bowler with such a short run.
