Between 1984 and 1989, the band scored four Top 20 albums and five Top 40 singles in the UK; it also had success in several other countries including Australia, the Netherlands, Sweden and New Zealand.
Lloyd Cole (born 31 January 1961) is an English singer, songwriter and musician. He was lead vocalist of Lloyd Cole and the Commotions from 1984 to 1989 and subsequently worked solo.

24 de abr. de 2008 · Amongst ourselves we never referred to ourselves as ‘Lloyd Cole and the Commotions’, always ‘The Commotions’. Q - Did your band mates ever object to your name being singled out in the band name? Not many bands formed in the eighties used that format.
