Art Zoyd is a French band formed in 1969, mixing free jazz, progressive rock and avant-garde electronica. Gérard Hourbette was the band's director and composer until his death in May 2018. [1] Another key member of the band was Thierry Zaboitzeff, who left the band in 1997. [2]
Art Zoyd biography. Founded in Valenciennes, France in 1969. In 1968, French smalltown Maubeuge was giving birth to this fascinating avant-garde outfit that now boasts 13 albums, 17 videos, many soundtracks and music for shows, worldwide festival appearances plus numerous live and compilation disks.
Art Zoyd est un groupe de rock français, originaire de Maubeuge, dans le Nord. Il a été formé en 1969 par Rocco Fernandez puis repris en 1971 par Gérard Hourbette et Thierry Zaboitzeff, qui l'ont co-dirigé jusqu'en 1997. Gérard Hourbette a ensuite repris seul la direction du groupe de 1997 à 2018.
