Alto Reed (born Thomas Neal Cartmell, May 16, 1948 – December 30, 2020) [1] was an American saxophonist best known as a long-time member of Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band [2] [3] He was a 1966 graduate of Lake Shore High School in St. Clair Shores, Michigan [4] Career.
Alto Reed, a Detroit native and a member of the Silver Bullet Band for nearly 50 years, passed away after a colon cancer battle. He was known for his saxophone solos on "Old Time Rock and Roll" and "Turn the Page".
