Richard Steven Valenzuela Reyes ( Pacoima, Los Ángeles, California, 13 de mayo de 1941- Clear Lake, Iowa, 3 de febrero de 1959), conocido como Ritchie Valens, fue un músico, compositor, cantante y guitarrista estadounidense de origen mexicano. Es considerado como uno de los pioneros del rock and roll, y el primero que cantó ese género en español.

His short career ended when he died at age 17 in the 1959 plane crash in which Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper also perished.
