Czesław Miłosz (pronunciado /ˈt͡ʂɛswafˈmiwɔʂ/ (escuchar ⓘ) Šeteniai, 30 de junio de 1911-Cracovia, 14 de agosto de 2004) fue un poeta, traductor y escritor polaco; premio Nobel de Literatura de 1980.
Czesław Miłosz ( / ˈmiːlɒʃ / MEE-losh, [ 6] US also /- lɔːʃ, - wɒʃ, - wɔːʃ / -lawsh, -wosh, -wawsh, [ 7][ 8][ 9][ e] Polish: [ˈt͡ʂɛswaf ˈmiwɔʂ] ⓘ; 30 June 1911 – 14 August 2004) was a Polish-American [ 7][ 8][ 10][ 11] poet, prose writer, translator, and diplomat. He primarily wrote his poetry in Polish.
En 1977 recibió el título de Doctor Honoris Causa en Letras por la Universidad de Michigan y en 1980 el Premio Nobel de Literatura. Tradujo al polaco obras de Baudelaire, T. S. Eliot, John Milton, Shakespeare, Simone Weil, y Walt Whitman. Falleció en agosto de 2004. ©.
Autor polaco, Czeslaw Milosz se licenció en Derecho en la Universidad Stefan Batory de Wilno, y marchó a París con una beca. A su regreso trabajó en Radio Wilno, que abandonó por disidencias con el régimen. Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, Milosz apoyó a los perseguidos por los nazis en Varsovia.
