Étienne Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire ( Étampes, 15 de abril de 1772- París, 19 de junio de 1844) fue un naturalista francés . Biografía académica. De padre abogado en el parlamento de París, el joven Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire se dedica en principio a la carrera eclesiástica y continúa sus estudios en el Colegio de Navarra de París.
Étienne Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire (15 April 1772 – 19 June 1844) was a French naturalist who established the principle of "unity of composition". He was a colleague of Jean-Baptiste Lamarck and expanded and defended Lamarck's evolutionary theories.
