Dave Filoni made a much-loved carton that even die-hard fans will admit is a mixed bag. But the highs for them make the lows easy to overlook. I'm not a fan of his work on the shows really, and I didn't find his episodes of The Mandalorian to be particularly great, but he's definitely warned his spot at Lucasfilm and he seems like a good guy.
Filoni is given far too many projects and continues to re-use the same characters over and over again. This continues to shrink Star Wars both creatively and continuity wise. Filoni’s work is super overrated. Clone Wars and Rebels have a few well written moments each and people in this subreddit want to talk about his work like it’s the freaking Sopranos. It’s way too fan-servicey, and often times seems like something an 11 year old boy playing with action figures would come up with.
1 de jun. de 2021 · Filoni is someone I take work by work. I think he emphasizes recurring themes, and someone fall flat, depending on the characters. I don't think he is the best thing for Star Wars but I appreciate that when he does things well it turns out well. But, he is not someone I give a blank check to. 7.
5 de dic. de 2022 · It definitely seems like Filoni having the sway to make everything Star Wars on TV about HIS one animated series. Then Andor comes out and it's like wow here's a Star Wars show that feels more like Star Wars than Filoni-Wars. So it REALLY contrasts when you have finally something that isn't this alternate Dave Filoni universe instead.
So Dave Filoni definitely stole the Tor Vizsla's Death Watch from the EU for Clone Wars. However, there is no mention of Tor Vizsla and we only see Pre Vizsla leading the Death Watch. Also the Jaster Mereel/Jango Fett's faction of Mandalorian is gone. (Probably because George Lucas does not approve of Jango being a Mando).
