Duncan Haldane is a British-born physicist who won the 2016 Nobel Prize in Physics for his work on topological phase transitions and phases of matter. He is a professor at Princeton University and has made many contributions to condensed matter theory, such as the fractional quantum Hall effect and the quantum spin Hall effect.
