Levi Stubbs died on October 17th, 2008 at his home in Detroit after a long series of illnesses, including cancer and a stroke. He was 72. Fakir, McNeir, Payton, and Harold "Spike" Bonhart, who replaced Peoples in 2011, continued to tour as The Four Tops with Fakir the only original member.
