John N. Mitchell was a lawyer, naval officer, and Republican politician who served as the 67th Attorney General of the United States under President Richard Nixon. He was also the chairman of Nixon's 1968 and 1972 presidential campaigns, and was convicted of crimes related to the Watergate scandal.
