Rubén González (born May 26, 1919, Santa Clara, Cuba - died December 8, 2003, Havana, Cuba) was a Cuban pianist. He was a legend in Cuban music and counted as one of the most influential pianists of the music style Son.
Rubén González is the first studio album by Cuban pianist Rubén González. It was recorded and released in 1975, on Areito. [1] : 1 The original LP was released with two different designs, one by Hipólito Cabrera featuring González on the cover, and one by Amaury Febles featuring a beach on the cover with the title Piano.

After five years of retirement, in 1996, Rubén was brought in to play on the Afro-Cuban All Stars album and on Buena Vista Social Club. After they were completed, Rubén was still at the piano keys. “It was such a beautiful piano and I had to play it,” he said.
