It depends very much on the context. Normal can have a variety of meanings, as can average.
Ordinary is (marginally) better than normal, as a normal person may be successful or unsuccessful, while an ordinary person is average, middle of the road, which implies neither very successful nor very unsuccessful. It seems to me, however, that neither of these words fill your need.

Examples would include an orthonormal basis consisting of vectors of length 1, and the gradients of 2 normal lines multiplying to equal -1. Since we usually use things of length 1, "normal" can be this way associated with "usual things". –

But in this style, me is also an emphatic variant of I that is used (among other uses) whenever several nouns or pronouns are joined into a single subject or object. This is the most correct style in the sense that it is how educated normal people normally speak.
