In 1961, piano player Fame, drummer Red Reece, bassist Tex Makins and Green were hired by pop manager Larry Parnes to back Billy Fury as the Blue Flames. Fury's manager dismissed them in February 1962 as he felt they were "too jazzy" and replaced them with the Tornados. 1961–1963

Georgie Fame, drummer Red Reece, bassist Tex Makins and guitarist Colin Green were rehearsing with singer Clay Nicholls in 1961 when they were hired by Larry Parnes to back Billy Fury.
27 de oct. de 2015 · It was safer down south and The Blue Flames, with Georgie on piano, Colin Green (guitar), Tex Makin (bass) and Red Reece (drums) were enjoying themselves, until the band got the sack in December 1961. It happened after a gig with Chubby Checker, The Shadows, Eddie Cochran and Billy Fury in Paris.
Rhythm and Blues at the Flamingo is a live rhythm and blues album recorded by Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames at the Flamingo Club in September 1963 and released by Columbia Records in 1964. It was the first album on which Fame appeared.
