School of the Performing Arts in the Richmond Community ( SPARC) is a school of performing arts established in Richmond, Virginia, United States in 1981. SPARC teaches children ages 3–18 in performing arts, such as singing, acting, and dancing.
Through our innovative approaches to arts education, SPARC is poised to help the Richmond community address issues of inequity, social injustice, discrimination, and other negative societal forces that challenge every community.
SPARC programs provide transformative performing arts education to over 3,000 students each year. Through Creative Youth Development initiatives, SPARC’s highly skilled teaching artists intentionally integrate the arts with youth development principles.
