  1. Like here: Soft Hyphen on unicode explorer. Of course, the character you should copy is invisible, so that makes it a little difficult I guess :) But it still works. Right-click and copy. You also don't need to render text containing a soft hyphen in any special way (like "DangerouslySetInnerHTML" with React).

  2. 11 de mar. de 2019 · iambrookedavis said: Según el diccionario el comparativo de shy es shyer y el superlativo shyest. En cambio, en dry se acepta dryer o drier y dryest o driest. ¿Qué diccionario es ese? Merriam-Webster: shy. adjective. \ ˈshī \. shier or shyer\ ˈshī (-ə)r \; shiest or shyest\ ˈshī-əst \.

  3. 17 de ene. de 2016 · This script will find and remove all the invisible s on your page: document.body.innerHTML=document.body.innerHTML.replace(/\u00AD/g, ''); It works by searching for the Unicode character U+00AD. It's invisible when it doesn't sit at a line break, which is probably why you can't find it in your code.

  4. 21 de ago. de 2012 · None of the below solutions do exactly what I want: CSS. "word-wrap: break-word". Depending on the div's width, this breaks the email address at awkward places. e.g. info@longemailaddress.co.u. k. Use a Soft Hyphen within the HTML: This is really well supported, but renders a visible hyphen on the page, leading user to believe the email ...

  5. 15 de jun. de 2005 · USA English. Jun 16, 2005. #6. adj. shi·er, (shr) or shy·er According to dictionary com, either of these two forms is acceptable. I also can't deny that you may hear "more shy" from time to time. I don't think shyier would be right. But Artrella's suggestion looks good to me.

  6. 12 de may. de 2009 · tepatria said: More shy is probably used more often, but shyer is correct. I would also say the most shy, although shyest is often used as well. I would say the opposite. In BE, shier is more common, in fact I don't think anyone would say more shy. As for the spelling, I'd say shier but since noone agrees you would be fine with either.

  7. 4 de abr. de 2016 · USA/English. Apr 4, 2016. #3. "To be shy of" something means to not quite achieve a goal. It' can be used to disparage (the only expression that pops into my mind now is "a few bricks shy of a load", which means someone's mental capacity is somewhat lacking). Or it can simply state a fact (":the car stopped a few yards shy if the intersection").

  8. 5 de ene. de 2017 · Jan 5, 2017. #5. I don't understand the English saying to mean the same as you do. To me it has no suggestion of 'twice as much'. Once bitten twice shy to me means that after something bad/unfortunate has happened once, you will avoid it a second time. So 'Gato escaldado del agua huye' is a perfect equivalent.

  9. 14 de ago. de 2014 · I have a website where I would prefer to use &shy ; (soft hyphen) to break words the way I want. Click here for screenshot from Chrome. The problem computers run OS X (multiple versions) and the problem occurs in both Chrome and Safari (multiple versions). Computers with exact same OS and browser version can show this differently.

  10. 26 de jul. de 2014 · Shy- Dry are one syllable adjectives. But Why do they have different spelling in their comparative forms? I read that : one syllable adjectives, ending in "y", you just add -er . Example: shy- shyer But, two syllable adjectives, ending in "y", change the "y"-- "i" and add -er : Example: happy- happier
