Sinopsis. Desventuras de Jean Valjean que, como consecuencia del robo de un poco de comida para su supervivencia da con sus huesos en la cárcel y, tras un intento frustrado de huida de la misma, cumple integra una larga condena.
La historia de Jean Valjean, todavía perseguida por Javert, continúa con un amor que se desarrolla entre Cosette y el estudiante radical Marius, un intento de chantaje por parte del sospechoso posadero Thenardier y un clímax en las barricadas de París.
