I've made a thread to see what you all think would happen if the BBC local radio stations ever merge and BBC Radio England launches as a brand new BBC station. BBC Wales, Scotland and Ulster would remain I'd expect. I wonder what the line up would be. It wouldn't happen.

9 de oct. de 2024 · There is no way BBC Scotland could afford Viaplay's asking price and Channel 5 don't seem very interested in sports rights these days. If ITV and Premier Sports haven't been able to reach a deal with Viaplay it's hard to see who else might step in and meet Viaplay's price. At least all the games are on YouTube which is better than nothing.
6 de feb. de 2011 · Similar changes occurred in Scotland and Wales with the birth of BBC Radio Scotland and BBC Radio Wales (formerly BBC Radio 4 Scotland and BBC Radio 4 Wales. When BBC Radio Foyle came on air, it used 792 KHz instead of 1341 along with 93.1 on FM. Don't forget that BBC Radio Scotland and BBC Radio Wales also had opt out services.
19 de oct. de 2024 · That’s an unenviable position to be in. It would’ve been perceived as a political attack by a broadcaster, especially in the case of BBC Scotland. Had it been before the court case, the years of Salmond in office, they’d have likely had protests outside the door for it - probably large scale.
15 de ago. de 2012 · On HD the 5 video streams were averaging 7.5Mbps during the Olympics, peaking at 12-15Mbps on occasions. During the closing ceremony the 5th stream was reduced to a 2Mbps caption and the saved bitrate used to enhance BBC One HD and BBC HD. They were averaging 10Mbps during the ceremony with peaks up to 15Mbps.

5 de oct. de 2024 · There no suggestion that transmission of 198 kHz LW would continue after summer 2025 from Westerglen (near Falkirk) and Burghead (Moray coast). Should R4 LW from Westerglen and Burghead, then close down, more than likely, the BBC Radio Scotland service on 810 kHz AM/MW would also close, leaving just R5L on 693 kHz.

If it's pre-18th February 1990 listings you want, you can look at the Glasgow Herald on the Google News Archive. TV section normally near the back. Will have some STV/BBC Scotland opt-outs of course.
