Burnhamthorpe Collegiate Institute. School History. Burnhamthorpe CI opened as a regular high school in 1956. In 1998, it was converted into an Adult Learning Centre (BALC). In 2002, the EdVance program commenced which focused on supporting students aged 18 to 20 who were behind in their credit accumulation.
