Lucrezia Buti (born 1435) was an Italian nun who later became the lover of the painter Fra Filippo Lippi and the mother of his children. She is believed to be the model for several Madonnas portrayed in Lippi's paintings.

Biografia. Figlia di Francesco Buti e di Caterina Ciacchi, diventò monaca nel monastero di Santa Margherita di Prato, dove, secondo Vasari, fu incontrata da Filippo Lippi che lavorava in città su la tavola della Madonna dà la Cintola a san Tommaso.
Lucrezia Buti, nata nel 1435 da Francesco, cittadino fiorentino, era stata posta dalla famiglia nel monastero agostiniano di Santa Margherita a Prato dove, insieme alla sorella Spinetta, risulta “suora professa” fin dal 1454.

The first time Fra Filippo saw Lucrezia at the convent, he thought her face exquisite, and he knew she would be the perfect model for the Madonna for his altarpiece. Right away, he asked the sisters for permission for Lucrezia to sit for him in his studio where he could paint her portrait.
