George Thorpe (baptized January 1, 1576 – March 22, 1622, at Berkeley Hundred), was a noted landowner, Member of Parliament, distiller, educator and major investor in early colonial companies in the Americas.
26 de may. de 2017 · George Thorpe was a wealthy Englishman who founded Berkeley Hundred, a plantation in Virginia, and served as a councilor for the Virginia Company. He also tried to convert the Virginia Indians to Christianity, but was killed by them in 1622.
