Children. Fred Hampton Jr. Fredrick "Chairman Fred" Allen Hampton Sr. (August 30, 1948 – December 4, 1969) was an American activist. He came to prominence in his late teens and very early 20s in Chicago as deputy chairman of the national Black Panther Party and chair of the Illinois chapter.
He is the only child of Fred Hampton, the Black Panther Party leader assassinated by police in Chicago on December 4, 1969, with his fiancée, now known as Akua Njeri.

Hampton Jr. consulted on HBO's new movie, Judas and the Black Messiah, which features Daniel Kaluuya playing his father. Now 51, Hampton Jr. is active as Chairman of the Black Panther Party Cubs.
