Cles, una de las muchas joyas del Trentino, es el símbolo de Val di Non. Un pequeño paraíso en la tierra formado por verdes valles y huertos rodeados por los Dolomitas de Brenta y los montes Anauni.
History. Prior to World War I, Cles was part of the Austrian Empire. After the war, the region was ceded to Italy with the dissolution of the Austro–Hungarian Monarchy . Lake Santa Giustina is an artificial lake which was created by the dike on the creek Noce.
The village of Cles is the main place of the Val di Non valley. Situated at 658 m a.s.l., Cles lies on the western shore of Lake Santa Giustina and counts some 7,200 inhabitants.
Cles is the regional capital of the Val di Non and is one main fruit growing, commercial and industrial centres of the Trentino. Located in the large basin of Santa Giustina, its plateau is overlooked by the Brenta Dolomites.
