29 de ene. de 2015 · I have been taking Ramipril for around four years and my dosage was increased to the 10mg level. I had been experiencing pain in my joints and muscles and like you had been having difficulty sleeping due to the pain in my legs. I am now 62 years old and fairly active as I walk regularly with my dogs and I teach exercise classes to the over 60s.

As soon as I went up to a dose that controlled my blood pressure, I got loose bowels again. Now started on Candesartan which seems to have a different mechanism of action. I constantly have an upset stomach.
21 de abr. de 2010 · I was on Ramipril for 3 weeks during which time I started to get severe skin irritation as well as other disastrous side effects. 8 weeks after stopping the Ramipril the itching is only now starting to abate, after further prescription cream to reduce it. The Ramipril was supposed to improve the pumping action of my heart.
2 de feb. de 2018 · Posted 6 years ago. I was on ramipril for 4 months and i developed horrendous side effects but i didnt realise at the time it was Ramipril causing the effects. I had a never ending cough, excess mucus and throw up all the time due to the mucus. I have since stopped ramipril (6 days ago) cough easing and hardly sick now but still do the odd time.

Had increase in migraines but that seems to have eased. But I feel unbelievably and inexplicably tired. I can hardly keep my eyes open, even while on holiday and having a quiet, relaxing time.

So I gave myself 12 months without Ramipril (taking Candesartan instead) and found that my AF episodes reduced from 18/year to 12/year which I consider a significant improvement. What bugs me is that although palpitations are an uncommon side-effect no doctor has ever linked this to Ramipril.
I had been taking Ramipril for about 5 years but was taken off suddenly due to having a stuck kidney stone. Within 2 days I felt 5 years younger as the following side effects just stopped (I had assumed they were just due to my age - 59!). 1) Night cramps. 2) Painful and stiff finger and knee joints. 3) aching muscles.
