Visiting Magdalen College. As a busy and lively working academic community we like to ensure you will enjoy your visit whether it is as a potential student here, an alumnus, an academic visitor, or as a tourist.
Established in 1458 by William of Waynflete, Magdalen College is a constituent college of the University of Oxford. It is the fourth richest college and one of the strongest academically, setting the Norrington Score record in 2010.
It is set in 100 acres of grounds which include the deer park and Addison’s riverside walk. It is a lively college with an active and inclusive undergraduate body of about 400 students, who can live in college accommodation for the whole of their course.
The Open Day is an opportunity for you to get a feel for the College, ask any questions you may have, and for you to meet our tutors and current undergraduate students. The Open Day is designed to help you to decide where you want to study and play no part whatsoever in our selection process.
