13 de ene. de 2017 · Adobe Reader DC also has an .msp and a .ini file that control some things. Basically, setup.exe calls AcroRead.msi, and then the .msp file updates it to the most current version. The .ini file is what calls out which .msi and .msp setup.exe uses.

28 de jul. de 2017 · I just solved this problem the PDF file itself has corrupted it wasn't Acrobat. Try a mouse right-button click and hold on the file name (in your File Explorer) to open a sub-menu, and the select "Open With" and then select "Adobe Acrobat". Worked for me in Windows 10.

13 de sept. de 2022 · I FOUND A SOLUTION. I had to go C:\Users\ [me]\AppData\Local and right click the Adobe folder, click properties and go to security tab. I had a bunch of left-over "Account Unknown" listed besides my three main ones (System, [me], Admin). I deleted all the account unknowns. That fixed it for me.

Given the total lack of response, this is apparently a problem that nobody else sees, so I have uninstalled Acrobat DC using the standard procedure outlined here: uninstall-reinstall-acrobat.html. I then restarted the computer and reinstalled Acrobat DC from the Creative Cloud Desktop app.
