Stephen Nicol (born 11 December 1961) is a Scottish retired professional footballer who mainly played as a right back and occasionally played in other positions across defence and midfield. He played for the successful Liverpool teams of the 1980s.
He made 26 appearances in the Central league side in his first season in 1981/82 and featured four times for the first team in 1982/83. Nicol emerged as quite a player in the glorious 1983/84 season when Liverpool won the League, European Cup and the League Cup.

Nicol played for five Liverpool managers and made 468 appearances, scoring 46 goals. Overall he won four League titles and three FA Cup winners medals before becoming a player coach at Notts County in 1995.
