Äiti pyrki huolehtimaan, että meillä oli paitsi puhtaat ja ehjät, myös kauniit vaatteet. Kouluaikana uudet puvut teetettiin aina joulu- ja kevätjuhliin samalla ompelijalla. Äiti itsekin teki meille vaatteita.
