The kind of competitive shooting like three gun just didn't exist in Murphy's era. The techniques were different, the training was worse and the kill ceiling was lower. Modern three gun is a product of the 1980's and has come a long way. I doubt Audie Murphy's splits were anything special because he wasn't training that.
