Initially forming as "Vent" in the early 1990s, the band changed their name to Audiovent upon signing with Atlantic Records in 2001. Vocalist Jason Boyd, guitarist Benjamin Einziger, bassist Paul Fried, and drummer Jamin Wilcox were originally known as Vent, forming in the early '90s after being inspired by the emerging mainstream alternative rock scene.
