Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose is the ninth studio album by Meat Loaf, and the third and final album in the Bat Out of Hell trilogy. It was released in Ireland on October 20, 2006, 29 years after Bat Out of Hell (1977), and 13 years after Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell (1993).

Y contó con la colaboración de Todd Rundgren (productor del primer disco), Marion Raven, Jennifer Hudson, Patti Russo (en la última canción que interpreta junto a Meat Loaf), Brian May, John Shanks, Steve Vai y otros. Debido al estado de salud de Meat Loaf se esperó una gira, pero esta no fue extraordinariamente grande.
The strong choirs back up Loaf and the guest vocalist Jennifer Hudson into the heavens and the emotion is there again. The main problem here just is that the outside songwriters don’t match up to Steinman’s signature completely-over-the-top style of tunes that Meat Loaf made classics.
Three are male-female duets featuring Marion Raven, Patti Russo and Jennifer Hudson, lending variety to the recording and continuing the trend from the first Bat record's "Paradise by the Dashboard Light." The guitar solos work with the songs without going overboard.
