La ville de se trouve à 350 km de Yaoundé. Bertoua est la capitale régionale de l'Est, la plus grande région forestière du Cameroun.

Un jour, sans que je ne sois informé à l'avance, ma mère m'appelle alors qu'elle était déjà arrivée à Bertoua. Je suis allé la chercher pour la maison. J'étais en location, un studio (chambre/salon).
