Shinedown is an American rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed by singer Brent Smith in 2001 after the dissolution of his previous band, Dreve. Smith, still under contract with record label Atlantic Records, recruited the band's original lineup of Jasin Todd as guitarist, Brad Stewart on bass, and Barry Kerch on drums.
In mid-2018, drummer Paul Crosby announced his departure from the band after 18 years. Shortly afterward, bassist Brad Stewart would also depart to focus on other touring and projects. Saliva then released their tenth studio record, 10 Lives, on October 19, 2018 via Megaforce Records.

24 de jun. de 2023 · Due to ongoing disillusionment with the whole process, the first band member to depart was bassist Brad Stewart, while Smith and original guitarist Jasin Todd were grappling with more familiar drink- and drugs-related issues. Smith – who was also about to become a father – managed to address his problems, but Todd’s difficulties remained.
Smith, still under contract with record label Atlantic Records, recruited the band’s original lineup of Jasin Todd as guitarist, Brad Stewart on bass, and Barry Kerch on drums.
