Tania Maria (born May 9, 1948) [2] is a Brazilian artist, singer, composer, bandleader and piano player, singing mostly in Portuguese or English. Her Brazilian-style music is mostly vocal, sometimes pop, often jazzy, and includes samba, bossa, Afro-Latin, pop and jazz fusion .

30 de ene. de 2013 · Her work on Canto is superb, sensual and beckoning. Maria remains largely unknown to many jazz fans in the U.S.—despite her powerful, robust voice, her syncopated jazz piano style and her intoxicating melodic compositions. My guess is it's the “female artist" thing.
