Charles "Charlie" Parker, Jr (Kansas City 29 agosto 1920 - New York il 12 marzo 1955). Sassofonista e compositore jazz, fondò e definì il genere chiamato bebop. Il movimento giovanile noto come Beat Generation crebbe alla fine degli anni '40 e negli anni '50 attorno al mito del Jazz e del Bebop in particolare.

Charlie „Bird“ Parker war ein US-amerikanischer Musiker, der als einer der Schöpfer und herausragenden Interpreten des Bebop zu einem wichtigen und einflussreichen Musiker in der Geschichte des Jazz wurde. Seine Musik „hat den Jazz beeinflusst wie vor ihm nur die von Louis Armstrong, wie nach ihm die von John Coltrane und Miles Davis“.
