Considering that Chinese Burn would have been discussed by both the BBC and Roughtcut, I wrote to the women in the middle of all this–Yennis Cheung and Shin-Fei Chen, who also play Jackie and Elizabeth in the show respectively. Both writers and their characters share the similarity of coming from outside the UK and eventually moving to London.
There's a common assumption about Chinese girls; Studious. Conservative. Polite. Well think again! Chinese Burn smashes all the stereotypes and with a round-house kick, busts opens the door to the messy, hilarious, unbridled reality putting an eastern twist on the western world.

When I heard that BBC Three were broadcasting a pilot of a show called Chinese Burn, I was shocked that it would star not just one, but three Chinese women, breaking records for British TV.
