Adolph Claus J. Spreckels (July 9, 1828 – December 26, 1908) (his last name has also been misspelled as Spreckles) was a major industrialist in Hawai'i during the kingdom, republican, and territorial periods of the islands' history.

13 de oct. de 2019 · Claus Spreckels was a German-American immigrant entrepreneur who built and broke monopolies in sugar, transport, gas, electricity, real estate, newspapers, banks and breweries in Hawaiʻi and the American West. He founded the Hawaiian Commercial Company, the largest sugar plantation in the islands, and the Spreckelsville Mill, the first electrically lit sugar mill in Hawaiʻi. He also built a narrow-gauge railroad and a steamship to transport sugar to San Francisco.
