In addition, the album contains a few ballads, most notably Jimmy Webb’s “Adios”. Of the twelve tracks, Linda Ronstadt elected to include four duets with Aaron Neville, of Neville Brothers fame.

Arranged and with backing vocals by Brian Wilson, a/k/a Mr. California (love or hate him, that’s what his voice so instantly evokes), this “goodbye” song is of a piece with its setting, “on the California coast.”.
