24 de ago. de 2024 · Gong were one of the great cult psychedelic rock bands. Founded in the late 1960s by Daevid Allen (who died in 2015), they charted an brilliantly eccentric course on the fringes of rock’s mains.
13 de ago. de 2024 · Soft Machine was formed in 1966 by Robert Wyatt, Mike Ratledge, Kevin Ayers and Daevid Allen. Wyatt had already worked with Allen in the Daevid Allen Trio (which Ratledge occasionally jammed with) in 1963, and with Ayers in the Wilde Flowers in 1964.

I’m Dead!, all doubts about the absence of Daevid Allen will be cast aside as contemporary and classic members unite to produce an undeniably ‘Gong sound’.
Hace 3 días · First brought together by Daevid Allen and Mickey Cosmic for the 2006 Gong Unconventional Festival in 2006, they’re an occasional band who perform a miasma of prog, psych and electronic spacey-like riffs with keys and synths and, when they use lyrics, they’re repeated over and over, such as ‘I did it again’ or ‘I fly through space.’
