Biography. Daniel Fergus McGrain was born on 1 May 1950 in Glasgow. He made his debut for Celtic in 1970 and became a stalwart of the successful sides of the 1970s becoming captain in 1977. He made 681 appearances for the Parkhead club where he remained until 1987, winning seven Scottish League Championships, five Scottish Cups and two League Cups.
