David Roderick is a poet, critic, and teacher. His books include BLUE COLONIAL and THE AMERICANS. David co-directs Left Margin LIT, a creative writing center in Berkeley.
David Roderick grew up in Plymouth, Massachusetts. At Colby College, where he earned his BA, he studied American Studies and creative writing. He earned an MFA at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and also studied poetry at Stanford University as a Wallace Stegner fellow.
David Roderick’s first book, Blue Colonial, won the APR /Honickman Prize and was published jointly by the American Poetry Review in 2006. Blue Colonial led to fellowships at the Bread Loaf and Sewanee Writers’ Conferences.
