Recently re-watched Dawn of the Dead (2004) - Definitely one of the best horror movies of the decade. Before Zach Snyder became Zach Snyder, and before zombies became a shitty, rehashed "cultural phenomenon" over the last ~8 years, this movie rocked the house. 6 de ago. de 2018 · Dawn of the Dead 2004 was always one of my favorite zombie movies. I don't know what it is, but they really hit the nail on the head with getting the feeling of society falling apart. It reminds me of the first season of Walking Dead. I think it was implied that they all died at the end. The island was over run and they were on the dock.
6 de ago. de 2021 · James Gunn wrote the Script, and he ends up a much better director. The introduction of running zombies in this and 28 Days Later changed the zombie game. First time I was legit scared of zombies in a movie. Return of the living dead introduced fast zombies many years before. Just need people I can run faster than.
The zombies never felt like a serious threat. It was up to your imagination to go the extra mile. They were slow, stupid, and most of the time, don't even try to bite you even if they grabbed you. I could could up to 10 or 15 times where the zombies could have successfully bit a protagonist but didn't.

Discussion. I think I prefer the 2004 version. Admittedly it was the first I watched and one of my first zombie films as a whole. Plus, the zombies in it actually felt like a threat. That being said, as I've got older, I've grown to enjoy the 1978 film and the symbolism. 2004 for a movie monster. 1978 for a symbolic story.
