I was not a fan of Chopin, Debussy, and other pianist from Romantic period because I honestly thought Classic music was boring. One is misled to thinking that every good element of Classic tunes are adopted in and transported to Jazz music so that you don't really have to listen to them. I was completely wrong.
Hace 1 día · Despite a slightly restricted acoustic, your reviewer’s benchmark and one for which he retains a deep affection is the recording made in 1967 by Virgil Fox conducted by Georges Prêtre (EMI – nla) and played on the magnificent organ of the Palais de Chaillet (removed in 1977 to make way for a car park and now residing in the Auditorium Maurice-Ravel in Lyon).
