Domenico Bernini (1657–1723) was an Italian scholar and author. He was the son of the artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Biography. Born on 3 August 1657, Domenico was the last of the eleven children born to the famed seventeenth-century artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini and his wife Caterina Tezio.

DOMENICO BERNINI (1657-1724) was the youngest son of artist, Gian Lorenzo Bernini (1598-1680). After a brief career as a Jesuit novice and as a cleric in minor orders (“un abate”), Domenico made a name for himself as a writer of ecclesiastical history.
