Fantasia is seventh studio album by Brazilian jazz artist Eliane Elias. The record was released in March, 1992 via Blue Note label. The vocal parts were performed by herself, her daughter Amanda Elias Brecker, and Ivan Lins. This record is one of her most acclaimed albums; Allmusic gave it 4½ stars out of five.
Eddie has played on Eliane’s albums as a leader since Illusions, in 1987. Eliane’s early idols included Jack DeJohnette, who was heard on her second solo album, Cross Currents, and rejoins her here. In addition there is some appropriate percussion by Nana Vasconcelos, the
7 de abr. de 2024 · In 1990, Elias recorded her first album of standards - all Jobim tunes, in fact, collaborating with a brilliant rhythm section of Eddie Gomez on bass and Jack DeJohnette on the drums, as well as fellow Brazilian Nana Vasconcelos on percussion.
While most of her recordings have been instrumental, Elias introduced her soft but coarse vocals on her 1990 album Eliane Elias Plays Jobim, and has employed vocals on occasion ever since. Her 1995 album Solos and Duets featured a brilliantly executed duet with Herbie Hancock.
