6 de nov. de 2018 · Judy’s first official on screen appearance for MGM was in the 1936 “tabloid musical” short Every Sunday, with Deanna Durbin (see below). Judy’s film debut was at 7 years old in the 1929 short The Big Revue. Her first appearance in Technicolor was not in The Wizard of Oz as most people think, but in the 1935 short La Fiesta De Santa Barbara.
She was featured in the “B” movie Thoroughbreds Don’t Cry which paired her for the first time with Mickey Rooney and reunited her with her Broadway Melody co-star Sophie Tucker. 1938’s Everybody Sing was the first film tailored around Judy’s talents and screen image.
