22 de may. de 2019 · Francesco Melzi (1493–1570) was born into a noble family in Milan. He became Leonardo’s favoured pupil after joining his Milanese workshop in around 1508. Melzi worked for Leonardo in Rome, and followed him to France, where he stayed until Leonardo’s death in 1519.

He published records of Leonardo on painting, in the book under the title "Trattato della Pittura". Melzi died around 1570 venerable master in his family estate in Vaprio d'adda. The heirs of Francesco Melzi, quickly sold out the legacy of Leonardo, which he's shore. Part of the heritage of the great Leonardo was because of this forever lost.

Flora (also La Columbina or Columbine) is a painting by Francesco Melzi, completed c. 1520. It depicts the Roman mythological figure Flora, the goddess of springtime and flowers, a popular subject among Renaissance artists. The painting was in the collection of Maria de’ Medici in 1649 and has been in the collection of Hermitage Museum, in St. Petersburg, since 1850.
