Frank Kevin "Tchallah" Reed (September 16, 1954 – February 26, 2014) was an American singer-songwriter. Reed was best known as the first replacement lead singer for the American vocal group The Chi-Lites. He replaced original lead singer and songwriter Eugene Record in 1988 after The Chi-Lites heyday. Frank Reed is an astrophysicist by education and a leading expert in celestial navigation, creating and teaching workshops, speaking on astronomy and nautical astronomy, and developing the Centennia Historical Atlas. He has also created and tested the GPS Anti Spoof app, appeared on StarTalk television and radio, and published articles on celestial navigation and gravitational physics.

Sadly, group member Frank Reed, who, along with Anthony Watson, took over lead vocal duties after the retirement of Eugene Record, has died. Reed was a talented singer who joined the group at a difficult time and served admirably through years on the road. He will be missed.

Reed joined the Chi-Lites in 1988 after leader Eugene Record went off to pursue his solo ambitions. Prior to joining the legendary harmony team, Frank had been in a group called Michigan Avenue.
