Fu Mingxia (born August 16, 1978, in Wuhan, Hubei) is a retired Chinese diver, multiple Olympic gold medalist and world champion. She won the platform-diving world championship in 1991 at the age of 12, making her the youngest diving champ of all time.

This enabled Mingxia to retire from competition as the most successful female diver in Olympic history, ahead even of legends such as Patricia McCormick or Dorothy Poynton Hill.
China’s Fu Mingxia was the top female diver of the 1990s. She has been at her best on the platform, winning the Olympic gold medal in that event in 1992 and 1996, and was World Champion in 1991 and 1994.
